L’Odyssee finally went back into the water at the beginning of October 2023 after two years on dry land. Unfortunately a storm developed after two days afloat with gusts of 68 knots. One of the cast iron bollard cleats split in two and the yacht swung into another yacht damaging both hulls. It seemed incredible that this should happen but she is a 60 tonne yacht.

latest news   cleatThe only positive out of this is that it could have been a forward cleat which would have caused more damage. A decision was made to replace all four bollard cleats. However, this proved difficult as casting such a item was no longer available in Montenegro. It was finally decided to have them made my welding steel and hence the results as photographed.
