Refitting The Mast on L'Odyssée
When the previous owner purchased L'Odyssee, she had alloy masts, he replaced them with the current wooden masts which he found in Toulon, France. The main mast is apparently over 100 years old and came off a yacht that was built in Fife, Scotland. After L'Odyssee was lifted out of the water both masts were lifted and placed alongside her in the yard. The main mast needed to be repaired, as rain water had damaged the areas behind the two stainless steel collars. Although the masts are spruce and laminated they were repaired with some of the oak cut-offs
